Cookie policy

Last updated 19 September 2026

This site sets no analytics cookies until you say yes. Decline, and everything works exactly as it did — there is no degraded version of the site for people who would rather not be counted.

What gets stored

Your cookie choice

When you accept or decline, we record that decision in your browser's local storage under the key aic-consent. It never leaves your device and it exists only so the banner stops asking. Strictly necessary — it is there because you asked for it.

Analytics — only after you accept

NameSet byPurposeExpires
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes one visitor from another2 years
_ga_<ID>Google AnalyticsKeeps track of a single visit2 years

These tell us how people find the site and which pages are worth keeping. They do not tell us who you are, they are not used for advertising, and nothing is shared or sold.

Security

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary cookie such as __cf_bm to tell human visitors from automated traffic. It lasts around 30 minutes and cannot be switched off without breaking the site's protection.

Changing your mind

Use the button below to clear your stored choice. The banner will appear again on your next page load and nothing further is recorded until you answer it.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, which overrides anything set here.

Why we ask at all

The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require consent before storing anything on your device that is not strictly necessary. Analytics is not strictly necessary, so we ask. Google Analytics runs in consent mode, which means it is loaded with storage denied by default and only granted if you accept.
