Fixed fees, defined outputs, and a written answer you can take to your board. If the honest conclusion is that AI is not your best spend this year, that is what you will be told.

The AI Audit
Find out where AI actually pays, before spending anything on it.
Discovery call — 90 minutes on your business, your team, and where time and money are going
Process mapping — the five to eight processes consuming the most time or cost
Opportunity assessment — each process scored for return and for implementation difficulty
Prioritised roadmap — the top three quick wins, with estimated savings and costs against each
Board-ready report — a document you can hand to your leadership team or your investors
Presentation call — 60 minutes to walk the findings and agree what happens next
£2,500 – £40,000
Implementation
Building the things the audit identified.
Fixed price per project, agreed before work starts. The range reflects scope, not uncertainty — a single workflow at one end, a department's worth of change at the other.
Work is sequenced so each piece is useful on its own. You are never waiting until the end of a programme to find out whether it was worth starting.
£1,500 + success fee
Funding applications
Getting someone else to pay for a good part of the work.
Most AI and digital projects in the Midlands qualify for something, and most SMEs never claim it — usually because the application is written in a language that has nothing to do with running a business.
Eligibility check — which schemes your business and project actually fit, before any time goes into an application
Project shaping — framing the work so it meets the assessment criteria without turning into a different project
The application itself — written by us, costings built with your finance lead, evidence gathered
Submission and follow-up — managing the process through to decision, and the reporting that follows an award
Midlands manufacturers can claim up to 50% match funding, capped at £20,000, through Made Smarter — alongside fully funded advice and technical training; the current East Midlands programme runs to 31 March 2027. Innovate UK Smart Grants cover development-heavy work, and regional schemes open and close throughout the year. What Made Smarter actually covers →
£1,500 fixed to shape, write and submit the application, plus a success fee agreed in writing before work starts and payable only if the application is awarded. If it is turned down, the £1,500 is all it costs you.
£1,000 – £2,000/month
Ongoing advisory
Senior judgement on call, without a senior salary.
For businesses that want someone to review new tools, sense-check vendor claims, troubleshoot an implementation that has stalled, and train the people who have to live with it.
Most clients run it for three to six months while AI becomes part of how the business works, rather than a project sitting to one side of it.
The range reflects how much of the month you need. £1,000 buys a standing monthly session and questions answered in between; £2,000 buys hands-on involvement while something is actively being built or rolled out.
Common questions
Do you work outside the East Midlands?
The focus is the East Midlands, and it is a deliberate one — being able to sit in your factory matters more than people expect. UK-wide clients are taken on where the fit is right.
What if the audit concludes we should not do it?
Then that is what the report says, with the reasoning. An audit that talks you out of a six-figure programme has paid for itself several times over.
Do we need our data in order first?
No. Assessing what state your data is in is part of the audit. Most firms are in a worse position than they think and a better one than they fear.
How quickly can we start?
The audit is usually scheduled within two to three weeks. Get in touch and you will have an answer on timing the same week.
